She gave a grunt. Another. And a squeal. “Come on...move for Mommy. You can do it.” She pulled and heaved, and then stumbled backwards when the giant over packed suitcase finally budged out the front door. She screamed as she went flying onto her back on the front walk with the suitcase landing on her stomach. She groaned.

“Perfect.” She blinked up at the sky a few times and waited for the fuzzy black spots to quit blocking her vision. The rattling of her backbone and fast moving pain were of no help. Her eyes dropped closed and she lay there a moment. She really didn't want to attempt movement. Nope. Here was good.

A shadow came over her and she squinted an eye open. The shadow was blocked by a blinding light, until it moved to block the sun. Her hand rose over her eyes and she used them both to look up. Sam stood over her with his hands in his pockets and a smirk on his lips. She made no deal of it. Just waved a little with the fingers above her eyes.

“Addison.”

“Hi Sam,” she said lightly. She left it at that and remained as though she were laying there of her own will simply enjoying the day. She sighed. His smirk turned into a slow grin and his tongue ran across his bottom lip.

“Y'need some help, Addison?”

“Oh, me? Sure. Why not?”

He laughed and bent over to remove the offending suitcase, then hook his hands under her arm and hoist her up. She held onto him as he did and nodded when she was once again stable on her own two feet. “Going somewhere?” He glanced at the suitcase then back to her. That amused grin still painted on his face. Her eyes were set to him completely unamused while her hand rose to her hip.

“I am, as a matter of fact. I'm going back to New York for the weekend.”

His eyes fell to the suitcase again and that grin finally left. It was replaced with confusion. “And..you need all that? For a weekend?”

“Sam. I'm going home to New York,” she said, as if it explained it all. She shook her head and rolled her eyes. “Be a good neighbor and put my suitcase in the car.” She didn't wait for a response as she made her way down the walk, eyes forward, arms swinging, and her own little smirk.

The sound of his grunt and footsteps followed her shortly.
