Fic Variations

Sorry for the late prompt post, today was a very busy day for me.

Anyhow, please remember that sign ups are still open until Sunday. Members can sign up for two claims. Be sure to promote this.

As well, it's up to you whether you want to write 5-7 drabbles (100-500 words in length) or 3-5 ficlets/fics (501+ words).

It is now January 2010 and members who have signed up can now start posting their stories to the community.

If you would like some definitions and synonyms for our prompts this month:

CAJOLE.

FEVER.

As always please keep in mind that you only need to use one of the prompts in your stories and you can choose which of the prompts you wish to use. If you want to use cajole for all of your stories, that's great. If you use fever for one story and cajole for the rest, that's all great. How you interpret the prompts is completely up to you.

My apologies for the sign ups being late for the month of May. This time around we will be trying something slightly different. Instead of having it that there's a set prompt and people make certain claims, for this month people will be claiming a prompt.

In other words, if you would like to participate leave a comment at this post. I will then provide you with a prompt. For the month of May you would use that prompt to write either 5 to 7 drabbles (100 to 500 words) or 3 to 5 ficlets (501+ words.) Each drabble/ficlet can focus on a different fandom, pairing, or character. At the same time, if you want to use your prompt to write in the same fandom or the same pairing or character, that's okay to.

Each participant will be given their own prompt. If you would like two prompts, please let me know when you leave me a comment.

This is a trial run, if people like doing this, then afteriwake and I will probably run the next couple of rounds in a similar fashion.

I'm such a bad mod forgetting to post the November sign ups. Anyhow people can post their October fics up until November 10th. Sign ups will also end on November 10th for the November 2008 round.

It's that time of month again. Things are going to be slightly different this month because May 2008 marks the two year anniversary of fic_variations. First of all, I'd like to say thank you to everyone who's ever participated at this community.

And I'd like to announce our sister community: fv_amnesty. This community is specifically designed for late entries, whether they're a month late or more. It offers a bit more than that so be sure to check it out.

May's prompts will be Love & Hate and Time. As always, you are free to interpret the prompts how you wish and you can use either one in your stories or alternate between the two prompts.

It's that time of month again: sign ups!

It's that time of month again, however this time there's a slight twist. Round 19 will consist of two months: December 2007 and January 2008.

Since we are covering two months, participants are allowed to sign up for a total of four claims instead of the normal two. Participants can either sign up for all four claims now or they can sign up for two at this time and then two more during the first week of January when I will run a week-long sign up post.

For our prompts for Round 19, participants will be able to pick and choose any of the prompts used from any round from Round 1 to Round 18. Participants can pick and choose what prompts per fic, meaning that you can write each fic per claim based on a different prompt. Or participants can use one prompt per claim.

Participants have until December 5th to sign up for either their first two claims or their entire four claims. If you only choose two claims at this time, I will be posting another sign up form at the start of January.
