Author's Notes: Abby picks up her film, and sees a familiar face. I researched VW Bugs for this. In my fic Thursday, Tony talked Abby into buying a black Bug. Deaf Dog Coffee shop is a fabulous coffe house in Petaluma and Rohnert Park, California. They actually had a deaf dog. I'm paying it some homage. I hope you all went to your local Equality Now screening. I did. =) 6/10.

Abby's last stop for the day was the photo store around the block from her apartment. Her Saturday had been errand filled, from groceries, an oil change to gift shopping. Once her photos were picked up and paid for she had a date with her couch, a glass of iced peach tea and her Firefly dvds. She'd attended the local Browncoats Equality Now screening on Friday. She couldn't wait to jump back into the world of Firefly.

The girl behind the counter smiled and handed her an envelope. Abby could develop her film at work in their photo shop, but preferred the anonymity of this corner shop. She'd been developing her film here since she started at NCIS. The girl behind the counter was the first friendly face she'd known.

Deaf Dog Coffee Shop across the street drew her gaze as she walked into the hazy late afternoon. She smiled and darted across the street. A fresh poppyseed muffin and a large iced Chai later, she slid into the VW Bug that still carried that fresh new car smell. As Jill Tracy filled the air Abby ripped open the envelope. She couldn't remember what was on the film or how old it was.

The glossy pictures slid into her hand. The first picture was of her lab. As Abby started to flip through she remembered what the pictures were from. It was her crime scene photographs. She had used up her film taking random photos throughout the building. There was Ducky and Jimmy in Autopsy, and the shot of the metal drawers along the wall. Ziva in the elevator glaring at Tony as they left for the night.

McGee was next sitting at his desk as he toyed with his iPod. She laughed at the picture of her with Tony's ballcap on. She was definetly Uncle Larry's niece with her white socks and her Mary Jane's. Tony had been right. She was really proud of herself for the pictures of Tony and McGee with their equipment. Abby was a big fan of unposed photographs.

Her smile faded fast as she flipped to the next picture. It was Gibbs and Ziva looking a bit shocked and a lot angry. Gibbs' glare that day had sent her scurrying to find Tony and McGee. This picture was the last one taken of Gibbs before he left.

The emotions of the last months washed back over her as she stared at his angry face. She had avoided all pictures of him. Not seeing his face except for what her mind remembered, made things slightly easier.

It had been months with no word. No postcard, no phone call, not a single word. Time had passed slowly. Some days harder than others, some situations easier to handle.

Abby missed the little things about him. The way he smiled at her, the feel of his lips on her cheek. Even her favorite drink didn't taste the way it had before.

She took another photo from the stack and put the rest away. With the help of a small pair of scissors from her purse and some tape she tucked the picture of Gibbs and a photo of her, Tony, McGee, Ziva and Ducky into the the panel in the middle of her speedometer. It blocked most of her gas gage, but the view was worth it.

She tossed everything back in her purse and started the car. She really needed that Firefly marathon now.
