For once, I'm not enthralled by the thought of kinky/angsty bisexual threesomes (and wow when did I ever think I would be typing that sentence?), but more by how the three of them interact as a group. I find their dynamic interesting. Mark dates Maureen, Maureen dumps him, but he's still willing to schlep for her. Mark and Joanne bond over the way Maureen uses/used them both, but Joanne stays with her, and Mark is obviously still friends with her, despite the way she treats them both. I think Mark and Joanne have a lot in common, and it's something I wish people explored further in RENT fic, since the vast majority are Roger/Mimi or Roger/Mark.
(Anyway, now that I've written a thesis statement for nothing...)
I think (if I thought with a Mark/Roger filter, which I'm not, honest) that Mark seems a bit horrified at the idea of him crushing on Roger because he totally is. A little. A boycrush. He's just so happy that he and his roommmate have gotten past the initial awkardness and become friends, he doesn't want to jeopardize it by even thinking about thinking about Roger.
And now I think I'm going to go write a 'here's how Mark met them all!' fic, told through his camera or something. Dammit. I was hoping to get something about Cindy and the kids...
