Haruhi looked over Kyon's shoulder, and found him studying a paper full of strange symbols. Her eyes lit up, and her imagination went into overdrive.
"Ooh!!" Haruhi said excitedly. "Is that an encoded state secret left by a secret agent!?"
Kyon sighed. "No, Haruhi. It's—"
"Or an ancient inscription from an Egyptian tomb!?" Haruhi shouted. "Or a message from aliens, received by radio telescope!?"
"No, Haruhi," said Kyon. "It's our algebra homework."
Haruhi sweat-dropped. She slowly and nervously backed away from the dreaded assignment.
Heh, Kyon thought. Some mysteries are too strange even for the leader of the SOS Brigade.
