fic_variations Prompt/Claim: Constant/Ed Green [Law & Order: AU Series] (#2 w. Bobby Goren and Kennedy Oliver)
Words: 425
Spoilers: Anything that may have happened in the series before this.
Warnings: This follows the series I wrote revolving around Ed. It takes place after the third story ends, and everything that's happened to him and the people in his life is fair game to pop up. If you haven't read it by now, I don't expect you to. But feel free to read these, you don't need to have read the others.
Author's Notes: Any and all Law and Order characters are not mine and I mean no harm in using them. However all original characters are mine and I'd rather they not be used without permission. All story lines that have occurred in these peoples lives are mine as well, be courteous.
“Not what I signed up for,” he muttered to himself. He took a deep breath before picking up the small, though heavy, bookshelf and moving down the hall with it. He saw Bobby's shadow moving by the open door of the apartment down the hall. “Iggy! Give me a hand!”
Bobby's head peaked out the door and he jumped slightly, then moved down the hall to meet Ed. He grabbed onto one side of the bookshelf and smiled. “At least I took my books off of it.” Ed stared at him blankly. He was clearly not amused.
“Y'know, when Liv said 'anything we can do to help'...I didn't realize that meant pimping me out to help empty your damn storage unit.”
“The fact that you're comparing your girlfriend to a pimp is troublesome,” Bobby smirked. He backed into his apartment and the men set the shelf down. Kennedy came walking out of the kitchen and looked it over.
“I wish you would've dusted it off first,” she glanced up at Bobby. He shuffled his eyes over to Ed, who held his hands up in surrender, then back to Kennedy.
“Have I told you how beautiful you look today?” He asked carefully. With a hand on her beginning to show pregnant stomach she gave him a mild glare. At 5'8, black hair and green eyes, Bobby definitely outdid Kennedy in stature – but she outdid him in volume. Which only gave her a heightened advantage of presence.
“Right. Doesn't matter if my kid gets some weird disease because his father isn't smart enough to clean furniture he plans on me living around...no...as long as I'm beautiful.” She rolled her eyes and turned to walk off.
“Honey...you can't get a disease from a little dust,” Bobby argued. Ed just watched on in amusement. Kennedy turned back around and stared at Bobby.
“How about you clean it and we not find out?” She offered evenly. She took a breath. Then, as though just noticing him, she turned to Ed and broke out into a smile. “Ed! How are you?” She moved over to get her requisite hug. He hugged her while chuckling in Bobby's direction.
“I'm great, Ken, how're you?” He gave her back a little rub. “You look beautiful.”
She beamed and patted his cheek. “Aww, thanks. I'm doing real good.” She nodded and headed back into the kitchen. Ed looked over at Bobby, still trying to not laugh. Bobby just stared at him.
“I do hate you sometimes,” Bobby said.
