Kyon found Mikuru writing on a sheet of parchment with an old-fashioned fountain pen. He looked over her shoulder. "Is that calligraphy? It's lovely, Mikuru-chan."

"Thank you," Mikuru said. "Even though I had to leave the Calligraphy Club, I still enjoy it."

"This is the first time I've seen you practicing calligraphy," Kyon said. "Why don't you do it more often?"

As if on cue, Haruhi slammed open the door and stormed into the SOS Brigade club-room. Mikuru nervously jumped in her seat, and accidentally drew a long indelible scribble, ruining her elaborate pen-work.

Kyon sighed. "I withdraw the question."
